The Operating Room Unit provides assistance to the surgical staff in meeting the emergency, prevenative,and
restorative health needs of patients.
The Operating Room is comprised of distinct functions concerned with a safe physical environment and
protection of patients, with continuous awareness of the dignity of humans and their physical and spiritual
needs.

Staff
- The Unit employees Registered Nurses all of whom are ACLS certified, Licensed Practical
Nurses,and Surgical Technicians as well as Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant, Certified
Operating Room Nurses all who are responsible for proving 24 hr emergency service to the community
that we serve.
Short Stay Suite
- Also under the umbrella of the Surgical Services is our Short Stay Suite which was formally our
OB department. This department was renovated for surgical patients. All patients for surgery begin
in this department which is staffed with RN”s L.P.N.’s, and PCA’s all with many years of experience
at giving the best care to our patients.
Endoscopy
- Endoscopy is located within our Short Stay Suite to provide a private and comfortable area for
procedures by a compete staff of caring R.N.’s, L.P.N’s.
Central Services
- Central Service Processing is also located within the operating room and staffed with certified
technicians who ensure the sterility of instrumentation both within our hospital and for Dr.’s
offices and ancillary areas affiliated with Brookville Hospital.
