The purpose of the laboratory is to provide useful clinical information to physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals by assisting them in the diagnosis, treatment and management of disease.

Caring for the Community
Patients utilize the laboratory for a variety of services including pre-employment testing, insurance health screenings, school physicals, long-term monitoring of medications and other chronic conditions and illnesses. The laboratory also provides services to patients that are in good health and to those patients experiencing life-threatening trauma. The laboratory provides services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Physicians
A pathologist is on-site at Brookville Hospital for consultation and interpretation of laboratory tests performed at Brookville Hospital and its subsidiaries. In addition, a pathologist is on-call after normal business hours.
Staff
The laboratory is continuously staffed with qualified Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians and Phlebotomists.
Quality Assurance
The Brookville Hospital Laboratory is licensed and certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. All testing performed is monitored through an extensive quality control plan that includes a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment, the success performance of multiple level control materials, calibration schedules, successful participation in the CAP, API, Pennsylvania Department of Health proficiency surveys, and onsite inspection by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
David L. Miller Center (DLMC)
The DLMC provides general X-ray and lab exams. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
