Brookville Hospital has an open policy regarding visiting on all patient units with the exception of the Senior Transition Unit (Geropsychiatric Unit). Visiting is allowed at all times unless contraindicated by the patient's condition or the patient's/physician's request for visiting restrictions. The number of visitors and length of time of visit may depend on the patient's condition and care needs as determined by the caregiver. Considerations will also be made to maintain confidentiality of all patients in the care area. Individual patient needs, with patient's preferences, will be priority when possible. Age limits are not restricted. However, this is at the discretion of the caregiver and the patient. Children under age 12 can not be left unattended at any time. Temporary changes to this policy, including restricted hours or visiting either for individual patients or for the Hospital may be implemented at any time. Changes are authorized by Hospital Administration and will be posted at the Information Desk and/or at the Patient Care Units.
